Opening Delayed for North Fabius River Bridge on Missouri Route 16 in Lewis County

MACON – The North Fabius River Bridge, located just west of Monticello, on Missouri Route 16 in Lewis County, is now projected to open by Friday, November 10, given no other unexpected delays.

“The progress on this bridge was slower than expected due to material delays,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Amy Crawford. “We appreciate everyone’s patience during this time,” she added.

Upon completion, this bridge will be 28 feet wide, which is 8 feet wider than the old bridge. The bridge will also be striped as two-lane.

The Middle Fabius River Bridge is projected to open next week, and will also be 28 feet wide and two-lane. A more specific date will be provided once it is determined.
