Resurfacing Between Hannibal and New London on U.S. 61 Completed

Some minor work will still be performed

HANNIBAL - The resurfacing of U.S. Route 61 between Hannibal and New London is, for the most part, completed, as the contractor, Magruder Paving, LLC, put some of the finishing touches on striping over the last few days.  The $4.3 million project included resurfacing the shoulders and new turn lanes at some intersections to help improve safety.

MoDOT commends drivers in the area for their courteousness in the work zone.  According to the inspector on the job, most people slowed down, and he didn't see a "whole lot" of talking on the phone while driving.  MoDOT encourages all drivers and passengers to always wear a seat belt.

Attached is a picture of the completed project just south of the MO 19 overpass in New London.
