Several Atchison County Routes Scheduled To Close

TARKIO, Mo – The installation of the Rock Creek wind farm project in Atchison County took a toll on some of the roads near the windmill sites. Enel S.p.A. (Enel), through its renewable energy subsidiary Enel Green Power North America, Inc. (EGPNA), constructed the Rock Creek wind farm, owned by EGPNA subsidiary Rock Creek Wind Project, LLC.

Enel has contracted with Herzog Contracting Corp. of St. Joseph to repair portions of the roads used during the wind farm construction. Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 8, crews will close portions of Routes M, C, YY and N in Atchison County. They plan to begin on the Route YY and work their way across all routes to the southernmost portions of Route N. The entire process could take 10 days. During that time, the crew will close each roadway in two-mile sections for paving, working daylight to dusk, Monday through Saturday. During the closures, motorists should seek an alternate route. All work is weather dependent and schedules may change.
