MARYVILLE, Mo – Routine bridge maintenance will soon close Route 46 in Nodaway County. Local maintenance crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will close Route 46 at the Nodaway River Bridge just west of Route 113. Due to Route 46 being used as a detour for a bridge replacement project on U.S. Route 136 at the bridge over the East Fork of the Little Tarkio Creek, the bridge maintenance on Route 46 will not begin until U.S. Route 136 is open to all traffic. U.S. Route 136 is expected to open sometime the week of Nov. 13.
Once U.S. Route 136 reopens at the East Fork of the Little Tarkio Creek Bridge, Route 46 at the Nodaway River Bridge will close. For instance, if U.S. Route 136 opens on Nov. 13, the closure on Route 46 will begin on Nov. 14.
Route 46 will be for approximately four days. The road will close each morning at approximately 8 a.m. and will reopen each afternoon around 3:30 p.m. All scheduled work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change. During this closure, motorists will need to use an alternate route.
MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up, eliminate distractions and drive safely to ensure everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
