CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation is close to completing the new I-35 Bridge over 69 Highway in Clay County. The opening is just in time for the holiday travel season. Originally, the plan was to complete the project in 2018, but work was finished ahead of schedule. Listed below are some of the anticipated early openings to traffic. All work is weather dependent.
Crews will open two lanes of southbound I-35 over 69 Highway Tuesday, Nov. 14 beginning at 1 p.m.
Crews will open two lanes of northbound I-35 over 69 Highway Tuesday, Nov. 14 beginning at 1 p.m.
Crews will open all lanes of traffic beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15
Crews will open the ramp from 69 Highway to southbound I-35 Thursday, Nov. 15 beginning at 1 p.m.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
