MoDOT Will CLOSE Portions of Route M To Work on Several Bridges

PETTIS COUNTY – Beginning Nov. 27 the Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE the Route M Bridge over Flat Creek for complete replacement which will take approximately 120 days. This is one of three bridges crews will be repairing or replacing for the next several months that will CLOSE portions of Route M through June 2018.

After completing Flat Creek, crews will move to Walnut Creek south of Sedalia for approximately 40 days.

The final bridge is Breakfast Creek on Route M and will be closed for approximately 45 days for deck and superstructure replacement.

Traffic will be detoured along Route 50 to Route 65 onto Route V and back to Route M.

All three bridges are currently striped for one lane but will accommodate two-lane traffic after repairs or replacement.

The Missouri Department of Transportation urges all motorists to always wear safety belts, follow posted speed limits and be alert for slowed traffic, narrowed lanes or a reduced number of lanes during construction and maintenance work. And remember, every work zone is a NO PHONE ZONE.
