Improvements Coming to Route 5 in Laclede County

A contract approved today by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission will bring improvements to Route 5 in Laclede County.

The project will resurface and install shoulders on Route 5 between Route C and Lawson Avenue south of Lebanon. In addition, left turn lanes will be added to the intersection of Route 5 and Freemont Road. The contract for the work was awarded to APAC-Central, Inc., which submitted the low bid of $1,391,640.

Work is expected to begin during the 2018 construction season, though a specific start date has not been set. When that date is established, The Missouri Department of Transportation will alert the public about the project through signs, news releases and social media.
