City of Parkville and MoDOT to celebrate the completion of the Route 45 Project

PLATTE COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation, the City of Parkville and Platte County will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to help celebrate the completion of the Route 45 Widening Project.

The ceremony will take place Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 3 p.m. Attendees are asked to enter the roundabout at Route K. The event will take place near the intersection of Route 45 just east of Timber Ridge and Nevada Ave.

MoDOT crews widened Route 45 to four lanes from I-435 to Route K. This project also included adding retaining walls along Route 45, a new roundabout and a new walking trail that begins at Route K and ends at Brink Myers Road.

The overall goal of the widening project was to increase capacity for more vehicles and improve intersection safety.
