Crews will also close one additional lane (for a total of two eastbound lanes) between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Drivers will have four westbound lanes before evening rush.

Crews will close one additional lane (for a total of two eastbound lanes) on Tuesday, December 19 and Wednesday, December 20 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to remove barrier wall and restripe. Drivers will have four eastbound lanes after 6 p.m. Wednesday. In addition, the ramp from Shrewsbury to eastbound I-44 will reopen by 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The interstate will remain open through the winter, but drivers can once again expect around-the-clock lane closures in March 2018, when crews will start reconstruction on the eastbound I-44 bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. The ramp from Shrewsbury to eastbound I-44 will also have to close for the year in March. More details will be released on those closures when they are finalized.
