Crews Will Close and Reconfigure Several Lanes at Route 210 and I-435 as part of the ongoing Interchange Improvement Project

CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the following lanes as part of the Route 210 and I-435 Interchange Improvement Project. These upcoming closures are part of normalizing traffic patterns for the winter months. Following the work, traffic on I-435 at Route 210 will return very close to its original configuration. All work is weather is permitting.

  • Crews will close the left lane of northbound I-435 at Route 210 from 7:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec.19 for pavement marking work
  • Crews will close the left lane of northbound I-435 at Route 210 from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20 for removing temporary barriers
  • Crews will close the left lane of southbound I-435 at Route 210 from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19 to 5 a.m. Wednesday , Dec. 20 for removing temporary barriers
  • Crews will close the left lane of southbound I-435 at Route 210 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20 for pavement marking work

This is all part of a project to build a new diverging diamond interchange for I-435 and Route 210, which includes replacing the old twin bridges over I-435 and Route 210 and widening I-435.

The Missouri Department of Transportation urges all motorists to always wear safety belts, follow posted speed limits and be alert for slowed traffic, narrowed lanes or a reduced number of lanes during construction and maintenance work. And remember, every work zone is a NO PHONE ZONE.
