JACKSON COUNTY – In honor of our hometown team, the Kansas City Chiefs making the playoffs, the Christopher S. Bond Bridge over the Missouri River will shine bright in red lights.
Our crews are currently working to install red plexiglass shields to cover each of the 40 lights on the dual span bridge. Crews say the lights will come to life tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 3 beginning at dusk and will remain red while the Chiefs make their push to be crowned NFL Champions. For the second consecutive year, the Kansas City Chiefs are AFC West Division Champions and are worthy of the tribute.
The iconic bridge is named for Christopher “Kit” Bond, the former governor and Missouri State senator.
