ST. LOUIS – With warmer temperatures expected over the next week, motorists should be on the lookout for an increase in construction and maintenance vehicles. Crews will use the warmer weather as an opportunity to touch up striping, patch potholes or other work they were unable to do during recent cold temperatures.
As a reminder, drivers from Illinois crossing the Mississippi River using the Poplar Street Bridge will have traffic shifts on both eastbound and westbound I-64 across the bridge for the remainder of the year. On eastbound I-64, both lanes of I-64 currently shift and continue across the bridge. On the bridge, the left lane and the right lane remain closed. On westbound I-64, while the far left lane is closed, drivers can use the remaining left lane to go to I-64, the far right lane to travel to southbound I-55 or I-44, and can use the center lane to go to I-64, I-55 or I-44. Drivers are also encouraged to use the Martin Luther King Bridge, the Eads Bridge or the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge to commute to St. Louis.
