Greene County – A project to connect the Route 60 (James River Freeway) ramps to create auxiliary lanes between Glenstone Avenue and National Avenue in Springfield starts the week of Feb. 26, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The project also includes extending interchange ramps in various locations along Route 60/360 (James River Freeway) between Kansas Expressway and I-44 in the Springfield/Republic areas.
Here’s a look at the project:
- Auxiliary lane/ramp connection project:
- Westbound and eastbound Route 60 between Glenstone Avenue and National Avenue in south Springfield
- Ramp extensions
- Westbound and eastbound on ramps at Greene County Route MM/Route 360 interchange near Republic
- Westbound and eastbound on ramps at Missouri Route 413 (West Sunshine Street)/Route 60 interchange near Republic
- Westbound and eastbound on ramps at Route 160/Greene County Route FF/Route 60 interchange west of Springfield
- Westbound and eastbound on ramps at Kansas Expressway (Missouri Route 13)/Route 60 interchange in southwest Springfield
During the work, drivers can expect nighttime lane closings and ramp closings at times. Crews will work between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday, using Saturday night to make up work missed during the week.
Crews will also work during daytime hours, but will not impact traffic.
The project is set for completion by late July 2018.
The prime contractor doing the work is APAC-Central of Fayetteville, AR.
The estimated total project cost is $2.4 million.
