LEE’S SUMMIT– The Missouri Department of Transportation will have intermittent lane closures in each direction along the Douglas Street Bridge over Interstate 470 beginning on Thursday, Mar. 1, until approximately Friday, Mar. 16. These lane closures are for prep work before the planned bridge rehabilitation of the Douglas Street Bridge tentatively scheduled to begin on Friday, Mar. 16. More information regarding the bridge demolition will be announced at a later date. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
