CORNING, Mo. – A bridge maintenance project will close 280th Street at Route 111 in Atchison County next week. Local maintenance crews will close 280th Street just east of Route 111 north of Corning for routine maintenance work. One lane of Route 111 will also be closed at 280th Street for the staging of equipment. Motorists on Route 111 will need to yield to oncoming traffic while the lane closure is in place. The full closure on 280th Street and lane closure on Route 111 will begin Monday, Feb. 26. The work will continue through Friday, March 2. All work will be conducted between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Both routes will be reopened to two-way traffic each afternoon. During this closure, motorists will need to use an alternate route.
