Route 54 Bridge Improvement Projects Continue in Callaway County

Work to improve nine U.S. Route 54 bridges in Callaway County will continue on Monday, February 26, with bridge rehabilitation work to begin on the westbound Route 54 bridge at Hiller’s Creek north of New Bloomfield. Traffic will be reduced to one lane until the end of April.

The Hiller’s Creek Bridge rehabilitation is part of a larger project by the Missouri Department of Transportation to improve nine total bridges on Route 54 between I-70 and New Bloomfield. Work on the westbound bridge over Middle River, the westbound bridge over Richland Creek, and the eastbound bridge over Interstate 70 has been completed. Work currently underway includes the rehabilitation of the eastbound Route 54 bridge over the Ozark Valley Railroad, the westbound exit ramp bridge over Business Route 54, and the eastbound bridge over Richland Creek.
