MoDOT To Close Portion of I-70 Overnight near Odessa for Bridge Deck Demolition March 5 and 6

ODESSA – During the overnight hours on March 5 and 6, the Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE eastbound then westbound I-70 to remove the deck on the Route WW Bridge. The complete closure and detour details include:

  • On March 5 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., I-70 eastbound will be CLOSED from Route D (Bates City) to Johnson Drive (Odessa).
  • On March 6 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., I-70 westbound will be CLOSED from Johnson Drive (Odessa) to Route D (Bates City).  Also, the eastbound off-ramps at Odessa will be CLOSED.  
  • Traffic will detour along the South Outer Road from Odessa to Bates City both nights.

During this closure, crews will CLOSE and remove the deck on the Route WW Bridge. It will be closed March 2 and rebuilt, with an anticipated completion date of May 1. All local traffic will need to find an alternative route.

The Missouri Department of Transportation urges all motorists to always wear safety belts, follow posted speed limits and be alert for slowed traffic, narrowed lanes or a reduced number of lanes during construction and maintenance work. And remember, every work zone is a NO PHONE ZONE.
