Contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation have started installing guardrail at the Route J interchange along Interstate 44 in Phelps County. The work began on Tuesday, March 6, closing one lane of Route J at the bridge until March 31.
The guardrail work is part of a resurfacing project on Route J between I-44 and Route K in Phelps County. The work also includes barrier wall construction on the Route J bridge over Spring Creek, which will begin on Monday, March 12. That work will close one lane of the bridge through March 31, with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through the area.
The resurfacing portion of the project is scheduled to begin in late April and be completed by Memorial Day weekend. MoDOT appreciates the patience of travelers during the work.
