ST. LOUIS - Drivers who use eastbound I-44 from St. Louis County into St. Louis City should be aware of lane closures that will impact travel times tomorrow. Crews will close two lanes on eastbound I-44 from Shrewsbury to Jamieson at 9 a.m. tomorrow, March 15 to shift traffic onto the westbound I-44 lanes. Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., three lanes of eastbound I-44 will be closed for about a half-hour to complete the switch. At 2 p.m., three lanes of eastbound I-44 traffic will be shifted onto the westbound I-44 lanes, and one lane will remain closed, around-the-clock, until December 2018.
Since there will be two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane closed around-the-clock until December, drivers should consider alternate routes, shifting their commute time or telecommuting (if possible) or using transit, carpooling or ride share options to avoid congestion, especially during the evening commute.
Also, drivers heading into downtown this weekend should be aware that several interstate ramps will be closed Saturday for the St. Patrick’s Day parade downtown.
Crews will close the ramps:
