Improvement Work on Route 124 in Boone County

A project to improve Missouri Route 124 in Boone County will move into its next phase next week. Contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin shoulder paving operations between Centralia and Hallsville during the overnight hours, beginning Monday night, March 19, weather permitting. In addition, crews will continue concrete barrier and guard rail upgrades on the Silver Fork Creek bridge west of Centralia, in preparation for resurfacing operations later this year. The bridge work will take place during the daytime hours.

Motorists can expect lane closures during the work, with flaggers guiding traffic through the work zone. The work is part of a series of roadway improvements along Route 124 and Route B between Centralia and Columbia. The entire project is scheduled for completion in June.
