Crews will CLOSE I-470 at Douglas Street Beginning on Mar. 30 at 9 p.m.

LEE’S SUMMIT – The Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE Interstate 470 at the Douglas Street Bridge beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 30, until 5 a.m. on April 1. Motorists will be re-routed over the on and off ramps and back onto I-470. This closure is so that crews can demolish and reconstruct the west half (southbound) side of the Douglas Street Bridge over I-470. This project will be completed in two phases with Phase 1 reconstructing the west half of the bridge until mid-June, and Phase 2 reconstructing the east half of the bridge afterwards.

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
