MoDOT to Close Eastbound I-44/Northbound I-55 South of PSB This Weekend

ST. LOUIS - Drivers heading into downtown St. Louis on eastbound I-44/northbound I-55 should consider taking alternate routes or allowing themselves extra time this weekend as MoDOT will close all lanes for pavement work.

Starting Friday, March 23 at 7 p.m., crews will close:

  • The eastbound I-44/northbound I-55 exit to Walnut.
  • The ramp from 8th Street and Marion to eastbound I-44/northbound I-55.
  • The northbound I-55 exit to Gravois.
  • The eastbound I-44/northbound I-55 exit to the Poplar Street Bridge.

Then at 8 p.m., crews will close:

  • All lanes of northbound I-55 at I-44.
  • All lanes of eastbound I-44 at the exit to 7th Street and Park/Broadway.

Detours will be marked. The closure will allow crews to repair pavement and drainage on the bridge over 3rd Street between the I-44/I-55 split and under the Poplar Street Bridge/eastbound I-64. All lanes are expected to be open by 5 a.m. Monday, March 26.

In addition, crews will close three lanes in each direction on the Poplar Street Bridge/I-55/I-64 starting on Saturday, March 24 at 11 p.m. until Sunday, March 25 at 6 a.m. to remove an overhead sign. Only one lane will be open in each direction on the I-64/I-55 bridge across the Mississippi River.
