Public Invited to Meeting about U.S. Route 61 Bridge Replacements

Cuivre River Bridges North of Troy in Lincoln County

HANNIBAL - Drivers using U.S. Route 61 in Lincoln County can look forward to both new northbound and southbound bridges at the Cuivre River, just north of Troy.  The construction of both bridges will begin next spring and is estimated to take up to two years.  The new bridges will be longer, higher, and will reduce the likelihood of flooding.

A public informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 11 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Old Alexandria United Methodist Church located at 87 Old Alexandria Road in Troy.  This is an open-house style meeting, so individuals may stop by anytime in that time to visit with MoDOT representatives about the project.

“There will be several displays showcasing the different bridge alignment construction options, the environmental impacts of the construction and new bridges, as well as information on the upcoming Lincoln County Route KK safety improvements,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Erik Maninga, P.E. “We encourage individuals to stop by the informational meeting, as well as, sign up for email and text alerts to stay up-to-date on the project,” he added.
