U.S. Route 61 Resurfacing Project Awarded in Marion and Lewis Counties

HANNIBAL – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a contract to Magruder Paving, LLC of Troy, Missouri, for a resurfacing project on both the southbound and northbound lanes of U.S. Route 61 in Marion and Lewis Counties. The southbound portion of the project will take place between Lewis County Route B, north of Canton, to the U.S. Route 24 interchange in Taylor, for a total resurfacing of nearly 17 miles. The northbound portion of the project will take place between the U.S. Route 24 interchange in Taylor to almost a mile north of the Lewis County Route B south junction, near La Grange, for a total resurfacing of 6.5 miles. The total cost of the project is $5,891,154.31.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone while the work is completed. The work could begin as early as April 16, 2018 and should be completed before October 1, 2018

“A more specific schedule will be shared after the contractor provides their plan for completing the work,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Amy Crawford, P.E.
