Missouri Route 19 Resurfacing Project to Begin in Audrain and Montgomery Counties

MACON – Weather permitting, Monday, April 9th, Missouri Route 19 in Audrain and Montgomery Counties will begin to undergo a resurfacing project. Crews will be doing pavement and shoulder repairs, followed by cold milling and then resurfacing from the south junction of U.S. Route 54 to 0.20 miles north of Montgomery County Route B near Montgomery City. The length of the project will be approximately 16 miles.

“The last resurfacing project took place in 2005, so it was time to mill off the surface to help create a smooth driving surface with new asphalt,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Haeffner.

Chester Bross of Palmyra, Missouri was awarded the contract for $4,745,317. They have 140 calendar days to complete the project. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone while the work is completed. Message boards will be up notifying motorists of the upcoming work.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through this area, and obey all work zone signs and personnel. Remember always buckle up and put your phone down to eliminate distractions.
