Polk County – Drivers can expect one-lane traffic and crews and equipment on Polk County Route T and Route 123 west of Bolivar starting the week of April 16, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
During the resurfacing work, drivers can expect slowed traffic with flaggers on the road directing them through the work zones. Crews also will use a pilot vehicle to lead vehicles through the work zones.
Here’s a look at the schedule for the resurfacing projects:
- Starting Thursday, April 5, Polk County Route T between Missouri Route 13 in Bolivar and Missouri Route 123 in Aldrich will be resurfaced. Up to two-foot wide shoulders with rumble strips will be added and new guardrail will be installed. Crews also will upgrade traffic signal detection loops at the Route 13/Polk County Route T interchange.
- When the project on Route T is complete, Route 123 between Missouri Route 215 at Eudora and U.S. Route 160 west of Willard will be resurfaced. Up to two-foot wide shoulders with rumble strips will be added.
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
Blevins Asphalt Construction Company of Mt. Vernon will do the work for a low bid amount of $2.5 million.
The work is scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2018. However, contractor crews expect to have the project completed by early summer, barring construction or weather delays.
