Work Begins on Route 5 in Camden County

Contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing Missouri Route 5 between the Niangua River and Route 7 in Camden County beginning Monday, April 2.

Weather permitting, work will take place during daytime hours, with the exception of the two-lane section of Route 5 and in the vicinity of the U.S. Route 54 ramps, which will be restricted to nighttime hours from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m.

A pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone within the two-lane section of Route 5, and lane closures will be used within the four-lane limits.

The entire project is scheduled for completion by fall. Message boards will be in place to alert motorists to the work. Drivers are asked to use caution when driving through work zones.

For more information about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or log onto www.modot.org/central.
