ST. LOUIS – People who typically use take Illinois Route 3 from the eastbound I-64/NB I-55 bridge across the Mississippi River (the Poplar Street Bridge) will need to allow themselves some extra time tomorrow at MoDOT will close the ramp for concrete work.
Crews will close the ramp to Illinois Route 3 at 7 a.m. Thursday, April 5, to pour concrete barrier wall. The ramp will reopen by 4 p.m. Thursday.
Drivers can continue on eastbound I-64, make a U-turn on South Barack Obama Avenue to get to westbound I-64 and exit to Illinois Route 3 to detour around the closure.
Drivers heading downtown this weekend on Sunday should be aware that several state roadways and interstate ramps will be closed for the Go! St. Louis Marathon.
Remember that drivers should not stop on the interstate, even at closed ramps, to let people out of their vehicle.
Marathon organizers will close the following downtown on Sunday:
- 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. – EB I-44 to Washington and WB I-44 to MLK/Convention, as well as the EB Martin Luther King Bridge will be closed.
- 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. – EB I-44 to 7th/Park and NB I-55 to Gravois will be closed; Route 30 will have limited access at Russell.
- 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. – WB I-44 to 7th Street and EB I-64 to Jefferson will be closed.
- 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. – EB I-64 to Market/Bernard; WB I-64 to 3000 Market; Route 100 between Jefferson and Newstead; and the Eads Bridge will be closed; Route 100 will have limited access at 4th Street.
- 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. – WB I-44 to Broadway will be closed and the ramp from EB I-70 to Tucker/Cass will be partially closed.
On Saturday, crews will close a stretch of Route CC in St. Louis County to make repairs to a pipe running under the roadway.
Crews will close Route CC between Route 109 and Kehrs Mill for the work starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, April 7. Local traffic only will be allowed to come as far as Chesterfield Oaks Dr. on the east side and Wardenburg Farms Drive on the west side of the pipe replacement. Traffic will not be able to make it through the closed section of roadway.
Drivers can use Route 340 to detour around the closure.

- I-70, St. Louis City, the ramp from Adelaide to westbound is closed through mid-April
- I-44, St. Louis County, the ramp from Shrewsbury to eastbound will be closed until December 2018.
- I-44, St. Louis County, one lane eastbound from Shrewsbury to Jamieson will be closed until December 2018.
- I-55, Jefferson County, one left lane closed northbound, starting south of Route 61 until late April.
- I-55, Jefferson County, one right lane closed southbound, starting south of Route 61 until late April.
