Road Work for Mid-Missouri

April 9-20, 2018

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of April 9-20, 2018.  Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Mowing, striping, brush cutting and guardrail repair continue in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.


Boone County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 124 between Route B and Route CC – Resurfacing and shoulder improvements are underway.
       * Shoulder paving continues during the overnight hours south of Centralia the week of April 9. Once shoulders are complete on Route 124, shoulder paving on Route B will start. The project is scheduled for completion in June.

Daylight Hours
Route 124 over Grindstone Creek, west of Old Highway 63 – Bridge maintenance will take place Wednesday, April 11 and Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route B between Business Loop 70 and Brown Station Road – Sidewalk improvements continue.
       * Work between Route B and Brown Station Road will include curb and gutter improvements, entrance improvements and excavation work. The project is scheduled for completion in late June.

Route B between Brown Station Road and Kemper Road – Concrete repair will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Callaway County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 Bridge Improvements

Here is a look at traffic impacts currently in place near the U.S. Route 54 bridges over Ozark Valley Railroad, Richland Creek and Business Route 54:

  • The westbound Route 54 off-ramp to Business Route 54 in Fulton is closed.
  • The Business Route 54 on-ramp to eastbound Route 54 in Fulton is closed.
  • Eastbound and westbound Route 54 traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction through the work zone area.
  • Route 54 traffic is head to head in the westbound lanes and separated by concrete barriers.
  • Route 54 median crossovers at Callaway County Roads 114, 201 and 210 are closed.


Route 54 over Hiller’s Creek, north of New Bloomfield
Westbound Route 54 has been reduced to one lane. The lane reduction at this bridge is scheduled until the end of April.

Daylight Hours
Route O between Route CC and State Street – Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. The work will take place from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. Road closures will take place for up to three hours in each location. Motorists are advised to see an alternate route around the area.


Camden County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 Outer Road over Linn Creek – The bridge replacement project will resume on Monday, April 9. Only the eastbound lane will be open through the work area.  
       * Westbound motorists will need to use the U.S. Route 54 crossover to connect with the Route 54 east crossover to travel east across the Outer Road bridge. The project is scheduled for completion in July. 

Daylight Hours
Route 5 between Route 7 and the Niangua River – Roadway resurfacing is underway. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 5 between Route 7 and Route 64 in Laclede County – Roadway resurfacing and guardrail installation and replacement continue.
       * Guardrail work between Route 7 and Route E will take place the week of April 9. Occasional lane closures are likely in the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.


Cooper County
Overnight/Daylight Hours
Interstate 70 between the Boone County line and the Saline County line – Concrete repair in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open in the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late June.


Crawford County
Daylight Hours
Route 19 between Route P and Wildcat Pride Drive – Pavement marking will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route 8 and Route TT in Dent County – Brush cutting will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 49 between Route 19 and Route Y in Iron County – Edge rut repair will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route M between Route 8 and Route VV – Roadside work will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N between Interstate 44 and Route 185 in Washington County – Edge rut repair will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route V between Route 49 and Route Y – Edge rut repair will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route DD between Indian Hills Drive and Evans Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route UU between Interstate 44 and Argo Road – Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Dent County
Daylight Hours
Route 19 between Route 68 and Route TT – Tree and brush removal will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route TT and Route 8 in Crawford County – Brush cutting will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route F over Holt Creek, south of Route 32 – Bridge replacement will begin on Monday, April 9. The road will be closed, and traffic will be detoured around the work area. The project is scheduled to be completed in June.


Howard County
Daylight Hours
Route 40 over Salt Creek, east of County Road 445 – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, April 16 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route O between County Road 103 and County Road 105 – Drainage repair will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route P between County Road 421 and County Road 451 – Drainage repair will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Route 240 and Route EE – Brush cutting will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Laclede County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 over Bear Creek, west of Route T – Bridge maintenance in the westbound lanes will take place Monday, April 9 and Tuesday, April 10. One westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Interstate 44 between Route 133 and Route D in Phelps County – Roadway resurfacing will begin on Monday, April 16. 
       * Pavement work in the westbound lanes west of St. Robert will take place the week of April 16. Guardrail repair and replacement will take place in various locations in the eastbound and westbound lanes. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 5 between Route 64 and Route 7 in Camden County – Roadway resurfacing and guardrail installation and replacement continue.
       * Guardrail work between Route 7 and Route E will take place the week of April 9. Occasional lane closures are likely in the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 32 between Route 5 and Route 17 in Texas County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening will begin on Monday, April 16. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route A between Route W and Business Loop 44 – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route E between Route 5 and the Dallas County line – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route HH between Route 5 and Royal Drive – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route NN between Route E and Kettle Road – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Maries County
Daylight Hours
Route 42 between Route 63 and Route 17 in Miller County – Roadway resurfacing, shoulder addition and guardrail installation continue.
       * Route 42 is reduced to one lane at the Maries River and Fly Creek bridges. Traffic will be controlled through the area with portable traffic signals. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 63 between County Road 210 and County Road 302 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, April 16 and Tuesday, April 17. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Miller County
Daylight Hours
Route 42 between Route 17 and Route 63 in Maries County – Roadway resurfacing, shoulder addition and guardrail installation is underway.
       * Route 42 is reduced to one lane at the Maries River and Fly Creek bridges. Traffic will be controlled through the area with portable traffic signals. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 42 between Route A and Buttercup Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Wednesday, April 11 and Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route M between Pin Oak Road and Scrivner Road – Drainage repair will take place Monday, April 16 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Route Y and Old Five Road in Morgan County - Brush cutting will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Business Route 54 at Bagnell Dam – Survey work and bridge maintenance will take place Monday, April 9 and Tuesday, April 10. The road will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.


Moniteau County

Route 5 between Route 50 and Route 52 in Morgan County – Roadway patching will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 


Morgan County

Route 5 between Route 52 and Route 50 in Moniteau County – Roadway patching will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 135 between Route M and Pyrmont Road - Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Monday, April 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Old Five Road and Route Y in Miller County - Brush cutting will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Osage County
Daylight Hours
Route T between Route 63 and Route AA – Brush cutting will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route FF between Route 89 and County Road 263 – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Phelps County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route B over the Bourbeuse River, north of County Road 1400 – Bridge replacement will begin on Monday, April 16.   
       * Initial groundwork will take place the week of April 16. Occasional lane closures are possible with this work. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route D over the Burlington Northern/Sante Fe Railroad, east of Interstate 44 – Bridge replacement will begin on Monday, April 16.   
       * Initial groundwork will take place the week of April 16. Occasional lane closures are possible with this work. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route D and Route 133 in Laclede County – Roadway resurfacing will begin on Monday, April 16. 
       * Pavement work in the westbound lanes west of St. Robert will take place the week of April 16. Guardrail repair and replacement will take place in various locations in the eastbound and westbound lanes. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Daylight Hours
Route 63 over Little Piney Creek, south of Rolla – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, April 9 through Wednesday, April 11. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route J between Route K and Route M – Tree trimming will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route J over Spring Creek, south of Route M – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, April 16 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route J between Interstate 44 and Route K – Roadway resurfacing continues.  
       * Guardrail installation on Route J over Interstate 44 continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
       * Barrier wall work near the Spring Creek bridge will close one lane of the road in the work area. Traffic will be controlled through the area by temporary traffic signals. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route P between Route T and Route AA – Tree trimming will take place Monday, April 16 through Thursday, April 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Pulaski County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 133 in Laclede County and Route D in Phelps County – Roadway resurfacing will begin on Monday, April 16. 
       * Pavement work in the westbound lanes west of St. Robert will take place the week of April 16. Guardrail repair and replacement will take place in various locations in the eastbound and westbound lanes. The project is scheduled for completion in August.


Washington County
Daylight Hours
Route 47 between Route 21 and the Franklin County line - Edge rut repair will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N between Route 185 and Interstate 44 in Crawford County – Edge rut repair will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route CC between Route E and the St. Francois County line – Ditch work will take place Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
