ST. LOUIS –Drivers traveling throughout the St. Louis region should be aware of several lane closures that will affect travel times into next week.
People heading into downtown this weekend should consider using I-64 or I-70, taking Metro or allowing themselves extra time as crews will close eastbound I-44/northbound I-55 for pavement work over the weekend.
Starting Friday, April 13, crews will close:
- Northbound I-55 at I-44 at 8 p.m. The detour will be marked.
- I-44 at the exit to 7th and Park/Broadway at 8 p.m. The detour will be marked.
- The ramp from EB I-44 /NB I-55 to Walnut will be closed at 7 p.m.
- The ramp from 8th and Marion to eastbound I-44/northbound I-55 will be closed at 7 p.m.
- The ramp from northbound I-55 to Gravois at 7 p.m.

Drivers can detour around the closure by continuing on westbound I-70, exiting at Route Z and getting onto eastbound I-70. From there drivers will be able to exit onto southbound Route 61/eastbound I-64.
In addition, drivers who use northbound Route 141 during their morning commute may want to use alternate routes for the next two weeks as crews will close a lane around the clock starting Monday, April 16.
Crews will close the right lane on northbound Route 141 at I-44 after morning rush on April 16. The lane will remain closed around the clock for two weeks to complete drainage work and to connect northbound Route 141 to a new ramp for westbound I-44 as part of continuing work on the Route 141 Design Build project. The ramps from northbound Route 141 to eastbound I-44 and from westbound I-44 to northbound Route 141 will remain open.
