BOONE COUNTY – Evening pavement replacement work will close an area of U.S. Route 40 between the westbound Route 40 on-ramp to Interstate 70 and Route UU at Midway starting Monday, April 16.
The work zone will be active from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day from Monday, April 16 through Friday, April 20. The road will be closed at 7 p.m. daily to remove the old concrete and replace it with new concrete. Once the new concrete work is completed, one lane will be opened and traffic will be flagged through the work zone. All work is scheduled to be completed by 6 a.m. each day.
Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route during the work. Message boards are in place in the area to notify drivers of the closure. MoDOT appreciates the patience of motorists during the work.
The work is part of a larger project that will resurface and improve shoulders on Route 40 from east of Route 5 in Howard County to Route UU.
