MoDOT Holding Online Public Meeting for Phelps County Route BB Improvements

PHELPS COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation is holding an online public meeting to share information about an upcoming project that will include resurfacing and adding shoulders to Route BB between St. James and Rolla in Phelps County. The project will also include pedestrian improvements in St. James and Rolla.

MoDOT is seeking input from the public about this project online at: http://www.modot.org/central/PhelpsRouteBB.htm. The online public meeting will run from April 16-30.

The project may begin as early as August 13 at the awarded contractor’s discretion and must be completed by November 2019.

Traffic will be maintained on the route during the construction of the shoulders and resurfacing. There will be times when portions of the route will be closed for extending box culverts. Route BB will be closed for a maximum of 10 days for each box culvert extension.

Additional right of way will be required along the route. Those affected will receive a letter of notification.

The total project cost is estimated to be $3.8 million.

If you would like to have more information or comment on the project, please contact Transportation Project Manager Danica Stovall-Taylor at (573) 526-8099 or Danica.Stovall-Taylor@modot.mo.gov.
