New Traffic Signals at Chestnut Expressway/Ingram Mill Road Set to Begin Flashing Afternoon of Tuesday, April 17. New signals go to into FULL OPERATION ON TUESDAY, APRIL 24.

Where: Chestnut Expressway at Ingram Mill Road west of Route 65 in Springfield 

What: New traffic signals set to begin flashing – yellow for Chestnut Expressway and red for Ingram Mill Road 

When: Afternoon of Tuesday, April 17 

TRAFFIC IMPACTS:

  • Drivers urged to use caution when traveling through the intersection
  • New traffic signals will go into full operation on Tuesday afternoon, April 24 

Project Facts:

  • Build new roads on either side of Chestnut Expressway to provide access to area businesses
  • Build a bridge on Chestnut Expressway over the railroad tracks west of Chestnut Expressway
  • Install a new traffic signal at Ingram Mill Road and Chestnut Expressway
  • Total project cost estimate: $14.8 million
  • Project nearing completion
  • Partnership project: city of Springfield, Greene County, Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad, MoDOT
