Motorists should be prepared for delays and road closures along U.S. Route 40 west of Columbia as part of the ongoing project to improve the roadway around Midway. Route 40 will be closed between the Interstate 70 westbound entrance ramp and Route UU from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24. In addition, one lane of Route 40 will be closed in front of the Midway Truck Stop from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 26.
These schedules are subject to change based on weather and the contractor’s progress. The work is part of a project to resurface and make shoulder improvements to Route 40 from Route 5 in Howard County to Route UU in Boone County. The entire project is scheduled for completion in October.
