Road Work for Mid-Missouri

April 23 - May 4, 2018

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of April 23 - May 4, 2018.  Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Mowing, striping, brush cutting and guardrail repair continue in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.


Boone County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 124 between Route B and Route CC
Resurfacing and shoulder improvements continue.
       * Shoulder paving continues during the overnight hours south of Centralia the week of April 23. Once shoulders are complete on Route 124, shoulder paving on Route B will start. The project is scheduled for completion in June.

Overnight Hours
Route 40 between Route 5 and Route UU
Resurfacing and shoulder improvements are underway.
       *Route 40 will be closed between the Interstate 70 westbound entrance ramp and Route UU from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24.  In addition, one lane of Route 40 will be closed in front of the Midway Truck Stop from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 26.
Work will continue during daylight hours and flaggers will be directing traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route B between Business Loop 70 and Brown Station Road –
Sidewalk improvements continue.
       * Work between Route B and Brown Station Road will include curb and gutter improvements, entrance improvements and excavation work. The project is scheduled for completion in late June.

Route B between Brown Station Road and Kemper Road – Concrete repair will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Callaway County

Route 54 Bridge Improvements
Here is a look at traffic impacts currently in place near the U.S. Route 54 bridges over Ozark Valley Railroad, Richland Creek and Business Route 54:

  • Westbound and Eastbound Route 54 will be reduced to one lane from north of HH to north of Richland Creek.
  • Eastbound Route 54 traffic will be reduced to one lane and switched to the passing lane of westbound Route 54 via temporary median crossovers, and westbound Route 54 traffic will use the driving lane of westbound Route 54.
  • The westbound Route 54 off-ramp to Business Route 54 is closed.
  • The Business Route 54 on-ramp to eastbound Route 54 in Fulton is closed.

These traffic impacts are scheduled until the end of May.

Route 54 Bridge over Interstate 70 at Kingdom City:
Bridge rehabilitation work begins on the westbound Route 54 bridge over Interstate 70 the week of April 23.

  • The work will take place in two stages. During the first stage of work, westbound Route 54 traffic will be reduced to one lane over the bridge. When the first stage is completed, the second stage of work will take place and two lanes of traffic will be open over the bridge.
  • The westbound Route 54 bridge over I-70 carries approximately 10,000 vehicles per day. MoDOT expects backups and traffic delays during peak travel times, especially on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • During all stages of the work, the westbound I-70 off-ramp to Route 54 (Exit 148) will be closed. A temporary exit ramp has been constructed on I-70, approximately two miles east of Route 54 (Exit 148). The temporary ramp will detour I-70 traffic to Route 54 via the Old U.S. 40 outer road. Traffic will exit on the temporary ramp to Old U.S. 40 to Route 54.

Electronic message boards will be in place along the routes to inform motorists about the work. The bridge is scheduled to be completed in approximately 30 days, which will be before the Memorial Day weekend.

Route 54 over Hiller’s Creek, north of New Bloomfield - Westbound Route 54 has been reduced to one lane. The lane reduction at this bridge is scheduled until the end of April.

Route O between Route D and Route CC
Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, May 3. The work will take place from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day. Road closures will take place for up to three hours in each location. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.


Camden County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 Outer Road over Linn Creek
Bridge replacement continues. Only the eastbound lane will be open through the work area.
       * Westbound motorists will need to use the U.S. Route 54 crossover to connect with the Route 54 east crossover to travel east across the Outer Road bridge. The project is scheduled for completion in July.

Route 5 between Route 7 and the Niangua River
Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 5 between Route 7 and Route 64 in Laclede County – Roadway resurfacing and guardrail installation and replacement continue.
       * Guardrail work between Route 7 and Route E will continue the week of April 23. Occasional lane closures are likely in the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.


Cole County
Overnight
Madison Street entrance ramp to Westbound Route 54
Bridge maintenance will take place Sunday, April 29 through Tuesday, May 1.
       *The bridge will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. Motorists are advised to seek alternate route.


Crawford County

Route 19 between Route P and Wildcat Pride Drive
Pavement marking will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route 8 and Route TT in Dent County – Brush cutting will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Main Street and the Gasconade County line – Edge rut repair will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 49 between Route 19 and Route Y in Iron County – Edge rut repair will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route M between Route 8 and Route VV – Roadside work will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route V between Route 49 and Route Y – Edge rut repair will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Interstate 44 Outer Road between Route H and East Grand Street – Concrete replacement will take place Tuesday, April 24 through Thursday, April 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Dent County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route F over Holt Creek, south of Route 32 –
Bridge replacement is underway. The road is closed, and traffic is detoured around the work area. The project is scheduled to be completed in late June.

Route 19 between Route TT and Route 8 in Crawford County
Brush cutting will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route 68 and Route TT – Brush removal will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 32 between Route 72 and Route 63 in Texas County – Culvert pipe repair, pavement repair and resurfacing will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Howard County
Daylight Hours
Route 40 over Salt Creek, west of County Road 439 –
Bridge deck repair will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Laclede County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 133 and Route D in Phelps County –
Roadway resurfacing is underway.
       * Pavement work in the westbound lanes west of St. Robert will take place the week of April 23. Guardrail repair and replacement will take place in various locations in the eastbound and westbound lanes. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 5 between Route 64 and Route 7 in Camden County –
Roadway resurfacing and guardrail installation and replacement continue.
       * Guardrail work between Route 7 and Route E will continue the week of April 23. Occasional lane closures are likely in the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 32 between Route 5 and Route 17 in Texas County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening is underway. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route NN between Route E and Kettle Road – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Maries County

Route 42 between Route 63 and Route 17 in Miller County –
Roadway resurfacing, shoulder addition and guardrail installation continue.
       * Route 42 is reduced to one lane in various locations between Vienna and Iberia.
       * Shoulder widening work will take place in Iberia the week of April 23. Minimal traffic disruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 63 between County Road 210 and County Road 302 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Tuesday, April 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Route 28 and County Road 511 - Brush removal will take place on Tuesday, April 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Miller County
Daylight Hours
Route 42 between Route 17 and Route 63 in Maries County –
Roadway resurfacing, shoulder addition and guardrail installation continue.
       * Route 42 is reduced to one lane in various locations between Vienna and Iberia.
      
* Shoulder widening work will take place in Iberia the week of April 23. Minimal traffic disruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route W between Route Y and Old Five Road in Morgan County - Brush cutting will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Morgan County

Route T between Route 52 and Ferry Landing Road –
Roadway patching will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Old Five Road and Route Y in Miller County - Brush cutting will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Osage County

Route T between Route 63 and Route AA
Brush cutting will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route FF between Route 89 and County Road 263 – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 


Phelps County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route B over the Bourbeuse River, north of County Road 1400 –
Bridge replacement is underway.
       * Initial groundwork will take place the week of April 23. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route D over the Burlington Northern/Sante Fe Railroad, east of Interstate 44 – Bridge replacement is underway.  
       * Initial groundwork will take place the week of April 23. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route D and Route 133 in Laclede County –
Roadway resurfacing is underway.
       * Pavement work in the westbound lanes west of St. Robert will take place the week of April 23. Guardrail repair and replacement will take place in various locations in the eastbound and westbound lanes. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route J over Spring Creek, south of Route M
Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route J between Interstate 44 and Route K – Roadway resurfacing continues. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route M between Route J and Route T – Tree trimming will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Pulaski County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 133 in Laclede County and Route D in Phelps County –
Roadway resurfacing is underway.
       * Pavement work in the westbound lanes west of St. Robert will take place the week of April 23. Guardrail repair and replacement will take place in various locations in the eastbound and westbound lanes. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route Z over the Big Piney River, east of Tranquil Lane – Concrete replacement will take place Monday, April 30 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route DD between Route 17 and Basin Road – Pavement repair will take place Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route NN between Route 17 and Sterling Road – Pavement repair will take place Wednesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Washington County

Pavement repair will take place Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
