South Outer I-70 to Remain Closed Following Tractor-Trailer Fire

Ramp to Eastbound I-70 Also Closed

ST. LOUIS – South Outer Interstate 70 (Veterans Memorial Parkway) past Mid Rivers Mall Drive will remain closed through at least the weekend following this morning’s tractor-trailer fire. The ramp from the outer road to eastbound I-70 will also remain closed, which means there is no access from Mid Rivers Mall Drive to eastbound I-70.  The ramp from eastbound I-70 to the outer road is also closed.

This morning’s fire damaged several slabs of pavement, as well as barrier wall, guardrail and a light pole. Repairs must be made before it is safe to reopen the roadway.

Drivers can detour around the closure by taking Mid Rivers Mall Drive to Mexico Road to Cave Springs and back to eastbound I-70.
