ST. LOUIS – People heading into downtown this weekend should consider using I-64, I-70 or taking Metro as MoDOT is planning to close eastbound I-44/northbound I-55 for pavement work rescheduled due to weather.
Starting Friday, April 27, crews plan to close:
- Northbound I-55 at I-44 at 8 p.m. The detour will be marked.
- I-44 at the exit to 7th and Park/Broadway at 8 p.m. The detour will be marked.
- The ramp from EB I-44 /NB I-55 to Walnut will be closed at 7 p.m.
- The ramp from 8th and Marion to eastbound I-44/northbound I-55 will be closed at 7 p.m.
- The ramp from northbound I-55 to Gravois at 7 p.m.
- The ramp from eastbound I-44/northbound I-55 to the Poplar Street Bridge at 7 p.m.
All lanes are expected to be open by 5 a.m. Monday, April 30.
In addition, crews will close a stretch of Wildhorse Creek Road (Route CC) in St. Louis County on Saturday to make repairs to a pipe running under the roadway. The work was rescheduled from earlier this month.
Route CC between Route 109 and Kehrs Mill will close for the work starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, April 28. Local traffic only will be allowed to come as far as Chesterfield Oaks Dr. on the east side and Wardenburg Farms Drive on the west side of the pipe replacement. Traffic will not be able to make it through the closed section of roadway.
The roadway will reopen by 4 p.m. Saturday, April 28.

- I-44, St. Louis City, one lane closed westbound between Jefferson and Arsenal through 2019.
- I-44, St. Louis City, one lane closed eastbound from Shrewsbury to Jefferson through 2019.
- I-64, St. Louis City, one lane closed eastbound across the Poplar Street Bridge into Illinois until December 2018.
- I-64, St. Louis City, one lane closed westbound across the Poplar Street Bridge through December 2018.
- I-44, St. Louis County, the ramp from Shrewsbury to eastbound I-44 is closed until December 2018.
- I-44, St. Louis County, one lane closed eastbound from Shrewsbury to Jamieson until December 2018.
- Route 141, St. Louis County, one lane closed northbound at I-44 through late April.
- I-70, St. Charles County, the westbound exit to southbound Route 61/eastbound I-64 is closed until June.
- Route 61, St. Charles County, access to Route P will be closed until September.
- I-55, Jefferson County, one lane closed northbound south of Route 61 until early May.
