South Outer I-70 Remains Closed for Repairs Following Tractor-Trailer Fire

ST. LOUIS – South Outer Interstate 70 (Veterans Memorial Parkway) past Mid Rivers Mall Drive will remain closed through the middle of next week while crews repair damage caused by Monday’s tractor-trailer fire. The fire damaged several slabs of pavement, barrier wall, guardrail and a high mast light pole.

The ramp from the outer road to eastbound I-70 also remains closed, which means there is no access from Mid Rivers Mall Drive to eastbound I-70. Drivers can detour around the closure by taking Mid Rivers Mall Drive to Mexico Road to Cave Springs.

The ramp from eastbound I-70 to the South Outer Road is expected to reopen later today with access only to Mid Rivers Mall. The ramp will be closed again on Monday morning so crews can continue repairs.

All work is weather permitting.
