Route 125 CLOSED at Swan Creek at Garrison

Starting May 7 Until Late August for Bridge Replacement

Christian County – Route 125 at the Swan Creek bridge at Garrison will CLOSE starting May 7 until late August to allow contractor crews to replace the bridge, the Missouri Department of Transportation said. 

During the closing of Route 125, a signed detour will be posted using Christian County Route UU and Christian County Route T. The entire detour is 36 miles long. 

The existing Swan Creek bridge was built in 1960 and has been in need of frequent repairs in recent years. 

The contractor could earn a bonus of up to $80,000 for completing the bridge prior to August 31. 

Project Highlights:

  • Replace existing bridge with a new structure
  • New bridge raised two feet higher than existing bridge. Route 125 also will be raised to meet the new bridge.
  • New bridge will be 26 feet wide
  • Prime contractor: Hartman Construction of Springfield
  • Project completion date: August 31, 2018
  • Estimated total project cost: $2 million
