St. Louis Work Zones for May 3-9

ST. LOUISAs part of ongoing construction work to update six bridges in St. Louis City, crews will close Kingshighway under I-44 this weekend.

Crews will close the roadway between the ramp to westbound I-44 and Shaw starting at 9 p.m. Friday, May 4 to demolish the I-44 bridge over Kingshighway. Ramps between the interstate and Kingshighway will remain open.

Detours will be marked.

Kingshighway under the interstate should reopen to traffic by 6 a.m. Monday, May 7. One lane on Kingshighway under the bridge will remain closed around the clock until mid-August.

This work replaces interstate bridges at Kingshighway, Thurman and 39th Street and rehabilitates interstate bridges over Vandeventer, Tower Grove and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

Drivers who use southbound Lucas-Hunt (Route U) to get onto westbound I-70 will need to find an alternate route for two weeks, starting Monday, May 7. Crews will close the ramp from southbound Route U/Lucas-Hunt onto westbound I-70 at 9 a.m. Monday. It will remain closed as crews work on the ramp.

This closure is the first phase of a larger project to update the ramps at the Route U/ Lucas-Hunt and I-70 interchange.
