Pedestrian Improvements Approved By Transportation Commission

Sidewalk improvements in several communities in Cooper and Moniteau counties have been approved by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission. At its regular monthly meeting today in Jefferson City, the commission approved improvements in the communities of Blackwater, Bunceton, Jamestown, Otterville, Pilot Grove, Prairie Home and Woolridge.

The low bid of $615,379 was submitted by Concrete Solution, LLC. The work will reconstruct existing deficient sidewalks to put them in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The contractor has until the summer of 2019 to complete the work. When a start date in each area is established, MoDOT will alert the public about the project through signs, news releases and social media. Minor traffic delays are possible, with occasional temporary lane and entrance closures possible in the work areas.
