Contract Awarded for Intersection Improvements in Jefferson City

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded a contract for pavement repairs at the intersection of Dix Road and Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City. Don Schnieders Excavating was awarded the bid for pavement repair, undersealing, milling and resurfacing at the intersection, after submitting the low bid of $424,616.

The pavement has been sinking at the intersection since last fall, due to a water main break. The work will stabilize the area and eliminate a dip in the road.

The project is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks, and completed in June.  When a start date is established, MoDOT will alert the public about the project through signs, news releases and social media.

For more information about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook and Twitter for project updates.
