U.S. Route 61 Resurfacing Project to Begin in Marion and Lewis Counties

HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, a resurfacing project will begin Monday, May 7, on both the southbound and northbound lanes of U.S. Route 61 in Marion and Lewis Counties. The southbound portion of the project will take place between Lewis County Route B, north of Canton, to the U.S. Route 24 interchange in Taylor, for a total resurfacing of nearly 17 miles. The northbound portion of the project will take place between the U.S. Route 24 interchange in Taylor to almost a mile north of the Lewis County Route B south junction, near La Grange, for a total resurfacing of 6.5 miles. The total cost of the project is $5,891,154.31. The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a contract to Magruder Paving, LLC of Troy, Missouri

Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone while the work is completed. The work should be completed before October 1, 2018
