MOUND CITY, Mo. – A long-awaited project will bring a new, smoother surface to Interstate 29 in Holt County. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted Chester Bross Construction Company to resurface I-29 between Route W and Route 118 in Holt County.
The contractor plans to mill and resurface the northbound driving lane (far right) first. They will begin at Mound City on Monday, May 14 and proceed to Route W near Corning. Northbound I-29 will be reduced to one lane around the work.
When the northbound driving lane is complete, they will move to the southbound driving lane. Then they’ll repeat the pattern with the passing lanes and shoulders. All work should be complete by mid-July, weather permitting.
All scheduled roadwork is weather permitting and subject to change. MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up, eliminate distractions and drive safely to ensure everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
