CASS COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE Route 2 completely beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 18, until approximately Thursday, Aug. 16. This road closure is so that crews can rehabilitate the Route 2 bridge over Interstate 49. Motorists are encouraged to follow the signed detours or use an alternate route. All work is weather permitting.
- Beginning on Friday, May 18, crews will reduce northbound and southbound I-49 at Route 2 to ONE LANE as traffic will be diverted up and over the ramps and back onto I-49. This lane reduction is for the demolition of Route 2 bridge.
- Southbound I-49 will remain in this configuration until approximately 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 19.
- Northbound I-49 will remain into this configuration until approximately 6 a.m. on Monday, May 21.
- This work may be accompanied by various lane closures along I-49 throughout the timeline of project.
- Route 2 will remain closed from Friday, May 18, until approximately Thursday, Aug. 16.
