MACON – Weather permitting, Monday, May 21st, work will begin again on U.S. Route 63 in Adair and Macon Counties with the resurfacing project. The project on the northbound lanes goes from LaPlata to Kirksville. The southbound work will go from LaPlata to Atlanta.
A few weeks ago work initially began with full depth pavement repairs. Now the project will pick up again with the roadway surface being milled off and replaced with a new asphalt surface.
Chester Bross of Palmyra, Missouri will complete the project. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone while the work is completed. Signs are already in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through this area, and obey all work zone signs and personnel. Remember always buckle up and put your phone down to eliminate distractions.
