MACON – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission recently awarded a contract to Lehman Construction of California, Missouri, for two bridge rehabilitations, one in Monroe County and the other in Randolph County. One project will be on U.S. Route 24 over U.S. Route 36 at Monroe City. The other project is on Randolph County Route C over U.S. 24 near Huntsville. The total cost of the projects is $307,837.
“We will be replacing the expansion joints on these bridges to extend the life of the bridges,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Haeffner.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane at each bridge while the work is completed. The work could begin as early as this summer and should be completed by this fall.
“A more specific schedule will be shared after the contractor provides their plan for completing the work,” Haeffner added.
