MACON – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission recently awarded a contract to Lehman Construction of California, Missouri, for two bridge rehabilitations in Randolph County. One project will be on Randolph County Route DD at Walnut Creek, located approximately 1.9 miles west of Randolph County Route Z near Cairo. The second project is on Randolph County Route EE at Coon Creek, located approximately 2.3 miles east of U.S. Route 63 near Moberly. The total cost of the projects is $548,890.
“These bridges will be 2 feet wider than the existing bridges once the decks are replaced, and they will have guardrail installed as an increased safety measure,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Haeffner.
The two bridges will be closed while rehabilitation work is completed. The work could begin as early as this summer and should be completed by this fall.
“A more specific schedule will be shared after the contractor provides their plan for completing the work,” Haeffner added.
