JACKSON COUNTY– The Missouri Department of Transportation will have various lane closures along both east and westbound Interstate 70 beginning on Tuesday, May 22. These lane closures are for rumble strip removal ahead of the planned demolition and bridge replacements of the Pittman, Crysler, and Phelps bridges over I-70. This work will have impacts to traffic. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead or consider an alternate route if necessary. All work is weather permitting.
- Westbound I-70 between Phelps Road and Pittman Road will have a left lane closure from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22.
- Eastbound I-70 between Pittman Road and Phelps Road will have a left lane closure from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23.
- Eastbound I-70 between Pittman Road and Phelps Road will have a right lane closure from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29.
- Westbound I-70 between Phelps Road and Pittman Road will have a right lane closure from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
