Various Single and Double Lane Closures Scheduled for Portion of I-49 Beginning May 16

JACKSON AND CASS COUNTIES – The Missouri Department of Transportation will have various single and double lane closures, both nightly and on weekends, along north and southbound Interstate 49 between Blue Ridge Blvd. and 163rd Street beginning on Wednesday, May 16, until Sunday, May 27. These lane closures are for pavement repairs. A full list of the schedules of the closures is stated below. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and find an alternate route if necessary. All work is weather permitting.

  • Various single and/or double lane closures along north and southbound I-49 between Blue Ridge Blvd. and 163rd Street are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for:
    • Wednesday, May 16, until Friday, May 18.
    • Wednesday, May 23, until Friday, May 25.
  • Various single and/or double lane closures along north and southbound I-49 between Blue Ridge Blvd. and 163rd Street are also scheduled from 7 p.m. until noon the following day for:
    • Friday, May 18, at 7 p.m. until noon on Saturday, May 19.
    • Saturday, May 19, at 7 p.m. until noon on Sunday, May 20.
    • Friday, May 25, at 7 p.m. until noon on Saturday, May 26.
    • Saturday, May 26, at 7 p.m. until noon on Sunday, May 27.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
